AASHTOWare Pavement ME Design is the next generation of pavement design software. The 1993 AASHTO Guide for the Design of Pavement Structures (and previous versions) is one of the primary documents used by state highway agencies for designing new and rehabilitated pavements. Subgrade and/or existing pavement conditions, in creating a trial design and the software is used to predict the pavement distresses and smoothness. A trial design can be obtained from the AASHTO 1993 empirical design process or pavement management system for a similar/near-by project or from local knowledge/experience. - PerRoad 4.4 uses the mechanistic-empirical design philosophy. It couples layered elastic analysis with a statistical analysis procedure to estimate stresses and strains within a pavement.
- PerRoadXPress 1.0 designs perpetual pavements for low- and medium-volume roads and parking lots. It was developed in response to requests by public works officials and owners of commercial property.

DARWin 2.0 (Pavement Design, Analysis and Rehabilitation for Windows).
This is a proprietary AASHTOWARE computer software product. The UI have a license for this software. It is available at the Highway Design Lab (BEL 117). Campus students are required to use it for their design activities. Video students are also encouraged to use it if they have an access to it, but not required. To obtain your copy, contact AASHTO.
Darwin Pavement Design software, free download 2012
WINFLEX 2000 A mechanistic-empirical overlay design system for flexible pavements. This software is developed by Dr. Fouad Bayomy under research contracts with Idaho transportation Department (ITD) at the UI Center for Transportation Infrastructure (CTI) of the National Institute for Advanced Transportation Technology (NIATT).
